afk. is currently a small independent publication. This page explains the limited information the site currently handles.

Website analytics

afk. uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand basic site traffic and performance. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as privacy-first and states that it does not collect or use visitors' personal data.

When you sign up for afk. weekly, we use your email address to send a confirmation link. Only after you confirm do we add your address to the newsletter list in Resend. Resend stores subscriber details and processes newsletter and confirmation emails on our behalf. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter or contact Saxon at konasaxon@gmail.com.

Cloudflare processes signup requests and temporarily stores your email and a hashed confirmation token. Links expire after one hour; temporary records and rate-limit records are cleared by a daily cleanup. We use hashed email and network identifiers to limit repeated requests. A hashed record of your confirmation, its date and the signup wording version is retained for about a year to record consent. We do not store raw network addresses in the signup database.

Resend records delivery information such as whether an email was delivered or bounced. Newsletter open and click tracking is currently disabled on our sending domain. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your subscriber information. See Resend’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Topic suggestions

The suggestion form collects the topic and any context you choose to provide. Your name and email are optional. Submissions are processed by FormSubmit and forwarded to Saxon’s Gmail inbox to review ideas and, if you leave an email, follow up. They are not displayed publicly and do not subscribe you to a mailing list.

FormSubmit retains submissions for 30 days and provides a spam check. Email copies may be retained as part of afk.’s editorial correspondence. See FormSubmit’s privacy terms. To ask about or request deletion of information you submitted, email konasaxon@gmail.com.

Direct contact

If you contact afk. directly, information you provide may be used to respond to you and manage that correspondence. It will not be sold as a mailing list.
